Maybe a periodic rotation featuring different local artists? That would be cool and would promote community involvement aside from the skateboard community.

Please share any other ideas you may have on how to make this park unique to Kitchener. (i.e. specific design features, local heritage, colour, materials, programming, themes, etc.)

Unique is nice. Functional is better. If you can incorperate local heritage themes into the design in a way that still encourages skill developement then go for it!

Beyond the concrete skatepark surface, is there anything else you would like to see at the skatepark? (i.e. seating / viewing spaces, landscaping, shade, specific signage, garbage, lighting, etc.)

Access to water, shade, seating ,lights and garbage bins aplenty. In that order.

Do you have any other questions or concerns related to the skatepark that you would like to see addressed? Please describe.
There should be a volunteer design committee of EXPERIENCED skaters and riders to review the layout and design with the designer(s). The designer(s) should be EXPERIENCED riders as well in order to avoid permanent design errors like the water-fall in Ficsher- Hallman bowl.

I really think an "organic flow" type of park is what is needed this time around. A perfect example of what good translate to a very friendly, fun park would be the water park at the Toronto Zoo. It's got hips, bumps, berms and flows really well. A current skatepark with nice "organic flow" features would be Stockwell in London England.

Beyond the concrete skatepark surface, is there anything else you would like to see at the skatepark? (i.e. seating / viewing spaces, landscaping, shade, specific signage, garbage, lighting, etc.)

Shade is a must. Garbage cans a must. Sarnia has the oldest skatepark in Canada and there is a drinking fountain right beside it. This would be a very welcoming feature. Seating that won't be used as ledges would be a bonus.

Maybe an awning covering a feature to allow for rain day sessions. Lights and seating areas are also great.

Do you have any other questions or concerns related to the skatepark that you would like to see addressed? Please describe.
Churchill park in Cambridge is a perfect example of how simple can be so much fun. Make it fun and dont over crowd the space. Its about function and quality not quantity.
