The City of Saratoga needs your help to turn drab utility boxes into works of art. Saratoga artists were invited to submit conceptual artwork for 7 different utility box locations throughout the City. The City received more than 50 stunning submittals. The Saratoga Public Art Committee narrowed the choices to 2 or 3 options for each of the locations.

Now, Saratoga residents get to choose their favorite conceptual artwork for each of the 7 locations! Residents can vote until February 7, 2018. Artwork that receives the most votes will be presented to the City Council on February 21, 2018 for final approval.

The Saratoga City Council proclaimed May 2017 as National Preservation Month. The Heritage Preservation Commission is also celebrating its 35th year of serving the community. After spending the month of May recognizing the role of the Heritage Preservation Commission in the Saratoga community, we want to hear what heritage preservation means to you.

California is no stranger to wildfire and much of Saratoga lies within an area regarded as being at a high risk for wildfire. The Oakland Hills fire in 1991 resulted in 25 fatalities and destroyed over 3,000 homes. Just this September, the Loma Fire in the Santa Cruz Mountains right next door to Saratoga was a stark reminder of the danger of fire.

While fires are not completely avoidable, there is a lot we can do protect our family and homes from fires.

Take a few moments to take this brief survey to share your thoughts and practices on fire prevention.
