Thanks for your participation -- we're glad you find this more convenient. As for the potential projects that could be moved along with this possible revenue source, there is a list of illustrative (not comprehensive) projects on the fourth page of the flyer that is attached to the topic introduction. Of course, the Scott County Board would determine the final list of projects, based on several factors and after additional public input. But the short answer is that revenue raised from this possible local sales tax would be used exclusively for transportation and transit purposes.

Thanks for your comments. Just to clarify two things: First, the state gas tax is constitutionally dedicated exclusively for roads and bridges. The federal gas tax is used for a wider array of transportation projects. (There are other dedicated state transportation taxes -- such as motor vehicle sales taxes and vehicle registration fees -- that partially fund transit capital projects and operations, but the majority of the funds are used for roads and bridges.) And as for the noxious weed control and eradication program, it has actually been required by law for many years (see http://www.mda.state.mn.us/plants/pestmanagement/weedcontrol/fsmnwp.aspx), and most of the weed inspectors/authorities are elected officials or their designees.
