The City of San Leandro is seeking perspectives and opinions about what programs & services are of most importance to local residents. Please review the items found through the priority list and rank them in order of importance. Additional services not listed may be added within the "statement" box
In 2010 the residents of San Leandro passed Measure Z, a local funding measure to give San Leandro a guaranteed local funding source that could not be taken by Sacramento. Measure Z was critical in maintaining essential city services such as 911 emergency response, police patrols, and fire protection, among other programs.
Measure Z is scheduled to expire and we are carefully evaluating how to deal with this potential loss of funds and continue to provide the quality of life services our residents rely on.
In a recently conducted professional public opinion research survey, San Leandro residents outlined their service priorities. Public safety services such as maintaining 911 emergency response times and neighborhood police patrols continue to top the list. However, respondents also stated a strong desire for programs that enhance our quality of life such as library programs, homework assistance for children and teens, and repairing our local streets and roads.
The survey found that more than 73% of respondents would like to extend Measure Z at the ½ cent rate to protect and address their priorities. We are working to get as many additional community perspectives on these issues as possible and want to hear what your priorities are for San Leandro.
