If renters can walk or bike to Bart and shopping, then they don't need a car to get around. If they are not paying for car ownership, they can spend more money on rent. Walnut Creek should focus on making the city careless friendly. We had trouble finding non-luxury apatments when we were renting. We were trying to save for a house so didn't want to waste money on amenities.

Affordable housing decreases traffic congestion in my neighborhood by preventing people from driving a long way to get to their destination. If workers can get to their place of employment by walking or biking, and can grocery shop without driving, our streets would be much safer.

Enforce traffic laws people disregard red lights and emergency vehicle right to pass. Fix bike trail potholes by Walden Park so many use the trail big pot holes are dangerous.

I believe salaries should reflect the cost of living.

Affordability is relative. Affordable housing to who? I can afford to live here. So as far as I'm concerned, there is plenty of affordable housing. I cannot afford to live in Alamo, so guess what, I can't live there. People want affordable housing in neighborhoods they can't afford.

With all of the recent housing come on-line, what is the city getting from developers to increase the infrastructure to meet the needs of residentt? It seems that the city is not giving support for new schools and parks and everything that is needed for a growing city. If the city is not willing to do , they should not keeping increasing housing.

There absolutely need be affordable housing, especially single units that single workers can afford. It is very sad that only luxury apartments are being built and that average people cannot afford their own apartment anywhere in the Bay Area, including Walnut Creek. The non-luxury options available are mostly very old and in need of basic maintenance.
