A draft of Salt Lake City's first-ever Transit Master Plan is available for public review. Please tell us what you think!
Purpose of the Plan
The primary purpose of the Transit Master Plan is to identify needs particular to Salt Lake City residents, employees, and visitors and to evaluate potential strategies for meetings those needs. The draft Plan proposes a comprehensive set of strategies to address those needs.
Public Outreach Process
The draft Plan was created following an extensive public outreach process that began in 2015. The project team toured city neighborhoods and attended events to find out why residents do or do not ride transit, what things they like or don't like about the existing system, and to identify the goals of the Plan. After evaluating this input, data on travel within the City, and the characteristics of the existing transit system – detailed in the State of the System Fact Book – we asked you to prioritize the transit improvements you wanted to see.
