How would you like the Region to respond in these different transportation planning scenarios?
Transportation decisions often involve tradeoffs. For example, widening a road to improve traffic flow may require private property to be purchased, more road noise, and less accessibility for pedestrians.
This short survey, will present you with questions and scenarios of the tradeoffs involved with different transportation decisions. Your responses will help us to better understand your priorities and your opinions.
Background – What is Moving Forward and why we want your input
Transportation is the movement of people and goods and has impacts on the economy, environment, social factors and public health. In many ways, the vision for a transportation system is the vision for the kind of community you want to live in.
“Moving Forward” is the Region’s Transportation Master Plan. It is important because it identifies policies and projects to meet the Region’s transportation needs over the next 25 years. At this early phase in the project, we are just trying to determine if we have the right vision and goals for transportation and that they reflect the values and opinions of residents of Waterloo Region.
There will be a number of opportunities for you to give us your input. We encourage you to learn more about the project by visiting the Moving Forward page on the Region website.
