Scheduled! - Planning Commission Public Hearing for the Draft Renewable Energy and Conservation Element.

The Public Hearing for the Draft Renewable Energy and Conservation Element (REC Element) will be held by the San Bernardino County Planning Commission at their meeting on November 3, 2016 at 9 am.  The Commission, in their deliberation, will review the proposal and make their recommendation to the Board of Supervisors for final action.

DRAFT RENEWABLE ENERGY AND CONSERVATION ELEMENT November 2016

Persons may submit comments on the REC Element in writing prior to the hearing or appear in person and be heard in support or opposition to the proposal at the time of the hearing.  If you challenge any decision regarding the above proposal in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice or in written correspondence delivered to the Planning Commission at, or prior to, the public hearing. Due to time constraints and the number of persons wishing to give oral testimony, time restrictions may be placed on oral testimony at the public hearing regarding this proposal.  You may wish to make your comments in writing to assure that you are able to express yourself adequately.

The Draft REC Element and environmental finding may be viewed online at the Land Use Services Planning website http://cms.sbcounty.gov/lus/Planning/PlanningCommission.aspx, or at the County Government Center Land Use Services, 385 N. Arrowhead Ave., First Floor, San Bernardino, CA from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.  To assure that someone will be available to assist you, staff requests you call the department at (909) 387-8311 to set a time to review the documents.

The Draft Renewable Energy and Conservation Element is Available For Review!

The Draft Renewable Energy and Conservation Element (REC Element) will be presented to the San Bernardino County Planning Commission at a Study Session Workshop to be held August 4, 2016 from 9 am to 11 am.  The Workshop is designed to provide an introduction of the Draft REC Element and to initiate a public review period of at least 60 days. The meeting purpose is for discussion and information-exchange only.  No action by the Commission will be recommended.

A key supportive document used to help inform the REC Element’s policies is the REVEAL Initiative Report, prepared by Aspen Environmental Group under direction of County Planning staff over this past year.

Planning Commission Workshop to Introduce the Draft REC Element

A Planning Commission Workshop will be held in August of 2016 to introduce the Draft Renewable Energy and Conservation Element and to kick off a 60-day public review period.  An announcement of the date and a link to the Draft Element will be posted on this website and sent directly to email subscribers.

SPARC Phase 1 - Round 3 Public Listening Session from March 5, 2015.

Land Use Services conducted a listening session on plans for the County General Plan Renewable Energy Element on March 5, 2015, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Covington Chambers in San Bernardino, with opportunities for videoconference testimony from both the High Desert (Hesperia) and Joshua Tree County government centers. The listening session was the third round of public exchange on the County General Plan Renewable Energy Element process.
