Routes 626 and 627 currently only run every 60 minutes on weekdays, with a span of service from 6 or 7 a.m. to about 7 p.m. UTA is proposing to use Prop One funds to improve the headways to every 30 minutes during the morning and evening peak periods, increase the span of service to 9 p.m., realign the routes to serve the Clearfield FrontRunner station, and add hourly Saturday service from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Utah Transit Authority is proposing to eliminate routes 664 and 665 in August 2017 due to low ridership. While a transit need exists at Hill Air Force Base, ridership data suggests a traditional fixed route bus is not the best option.  UTA appreciates those who have ridden the 664 and 665 services and hopes an alternative solution is acceptable. UTA is proposing to eliminate the fixed route bus service to Hill Air Force Base and offer vanpool and RideVan Plus as alternative options.

Proposal to modify the route 667 schedule to better connect with FrontRunner

Route 667 is the free fare shuttle in Farmington, which connects the Farmington Station to Station Park, Lagoon and downtown Farmington. Due to heavy loads in the summer and connection issues with FrontRunner, the proposal is to modify the schedule to provide better transfers to and from FrontRunner and to spread passenger loads across 667 trips. In order to accomplish this, there would be no service to downtown Farmington in the AM and PM peak periods, and every 60 minutes during the mid-day.

UTA is currently exploring future transit options for Davis County and is seeking input on what improvements would best help transit in the county.

In the next 30 years, the population in Salt Lake, Davis, Weber and Utah counties is projected to grow by 65 percent with more than 1.4 million new residents. Recent capital projects have created the backbone of a world-class transit system, but additional connections and other improvements are needed to meet the demand created by this continued population growth. Without additional transit improvements air quality will continue to decline, traffic congestion will increase and the quality of life Utahns enjoy will suffer.

We’re interested in your feedback on future Davis County transit. Please take a moment to answer our survey and leave your comments at www.rideuta.com/openuta
