Yes

3. What is your opinion of the conceptual drawing of Southview Park renovations that was created by SWA Group?
I like it

4. Do you have any other feedback for City staff on the conceptual drawing of Southview Park renovations?
Is a restroom feasible to incorporate on the property. Nice to have. Though cost, loitering, and maintenance is a concern.

No

2. If you answered "No" or "Not sure" to question #1, what changes would you like to see included as part of Southview Park renovations?
in reviewing the planned renovations, for the most part I like what I see but there are a few items missing: BBQ pit and picnic tables in the viewing terrace and making sure the park is geared towards older kids (NO sound tubes - total waste of space at robin sweeney - more dangerous tan functional!) A designated dog area is mandatory, as having two boys overtime we try to play on lawn at south view one of always comes home with dog poo on our shoes (thanks responsible dog owners NOT! - we have a dog point of interest). Other than those I love the plan!

Making sure dog owners of Sausalito don't ruin the lawns, walkways and open areas with poop - we should offer more poop bag dispensaries and enforce the code for not picking up poop.

I believe a beautiful and well-maintained park will be such a great neighborhood gathering spot. At the moment it is a EYE-SORE.

Other - Dog area size has been reduced. It's small now, doesn't need to be any smaller.

Think the water fountains are a waste of money. People rarely use public water fountains for sanitary reasons.

Please keep the playground equipment useful for a wide range of ages. Robin Sweeney trends to the very young and the poles are just a waste. The French school park is a great example of appealing to multiple ages. Please keep the swings. Again there are not enough at Sweeney and the turf at Sweeney gets too hot! Please don't skimp on lots of play equipment (slides, climbing apparatus, swings).

With the lawn have real grass... the fake grass at City Hall sucks!!! Nothing better than the real thing and it costs more to maintain, however, way better for appearance and feel!!!!

No

2. If you answered "No" or "Not sure" to question #1, what changes would you like to see included as part of Southview Park renovations?
Not making any changes to use and facilities would be a lost opportunity when considering how the space is used, and isn't used. Old Town needs a dog park, all other areas of the city have a dog facility, one should be included in this plan in the space that is currently used as a dog park. The area should be gravel, not grass to facilitate clean up and reduce maintenance. I frequently see the tennis court used, especially in past years when it wasn't in as bad shape, but the basketball court is never used and that presents a large opportunity to add space that appeal to a broader range of citizens.

No

2. If you answered "No" or "Not sure" to question #1, what changes would you like to see included as part of Southview Park renovations?
Keeping the park the same misses a huge opportunity to evolve the park for emerging neighborhood and community needs. The tennis court is key and should be upgraded but the basketball court is never used and could be better leveraged as a multi use area. Also, the grass area should be converted to gravel and be designated a dog park, which is it's current use, also relieves city of maintaining a small patch of grass that will soon be a dust pit.

4. Do you have any other feedback for City staff on the conceptual drawing of Southview Park renovations?
It's boring, shows very little creativity and misses a big opportunity to better evolve the park for future needs to serve more residents.

Other - I like it but feel they could add a bit more to it.

4. Do you have any other feedback for City staff on the conceptual drawing of Southview Park renovations?
In my option, it would be great if a few picnic tables & even a grill could be added to the "View Terrace" space. The renovations are going to cost more than what is budgeted for this renovation. You could help to raise money by "selling" these picnic tables/ grill & putting name plaques on them of the people that "donated" money for them. Also, it would be great to have a long dog run in the space between the lawn & tennis courts instead of more tiered space. This would leave the lawn to the children (& not have to worry about dog owners that don't clean up after their dogs) & then dogs could have their own space. In regards to where the playground is, I hope that this playground equipment is geared more towards older children. The Robin Sweeney Park really caters to small children & doesn't have lots of options for the older children. It would be great if Southview could fill this void. I am a parent to 2 boys (ages 6 & 8), a dog owner & also live across the street from this park for the last 5 years.
