What types of topics, discussions, and/or opinions would you like to see discussed on our new open platform: Open City Hall?
The City of Sausalito strives to provide effective tools in order to engage our community and increase civic participation in our City government. To accomplish this, we hold public meetings, utilize a comprehensive website (updated site soon to be launched), video stream the City Council meetings, disseminate a weekly e-newsletter, use social media, news releases, brochures and fliers to keep our public informed.
The City Council recently reaffirmed this position with the affirmation of one of their goals: “Increase the effectiveness and efficiency to deliver municipal services through the use of technology and creativity”. With that affirmation, the City of Sausalito is launching Open City Hall, an exciting online forum designed to let people discuss important issues, answer questions, or offer opinions and suggestions on chosen topics. Council and staff will read the statements posted and incorporate them into the decision-making process. It is hoped that this new tool will provide more opportunities (from the privacy of their homes) for citizen interaction and engagement, and to open communication so that leaders and citizens can work together more effectively.
What types of topics, discussions, and/or opinions would you like to see discussed on this open platform? How would you like the City of Sausalito to use it? Please privde us with your thoughts. We look forward to seeing your comments. Click on Post below to have your say.
