Thank you for participating! The survey measured County citizens’ perceptions of whether the County is on the right track and areas where citizens would prefer the County focus its efforts in the near future. Data collected from the citizens’ survey was presented along with over 200 comments received in the open comment section of the survey. A strategic planning session was held with citizens, staff, commissioners and elected officials to review common themes and issues through a series of exercises conducted as a team.
Following that presentation, the group identified top priorities for the new Douglas County Strategic Plan: financial stability; infrastructure; and organizational stability. Additional areas discussed for the Strategic Plan were: economic vitality; natural resources, culture and quality of life; managed growth; and safe community.
A draft of the strategic plan will be posted soon allowing for more citizen feedback.

You are invited to take a very important survey, one that will help Douglas County make decisions on the Strategic Plan.
The Douglas County’s Strategic plan is the framework for which the commission prioritizes fiscal needs and public services in Douglas County. On February 2, 2017 we will close the survey and begin the analysis. If you can carve out 10-15 minutes in the next couple days to contribute, please do. We certainly do not want to close the survey without your thoughts included.
Thank you for your time and we look forward to your response.

Part of Douglas County Economic Vitality Program focuses on creating “Distinctive Downtowns” which are the core of our communities. Having the right mix of businesses, shops, dining options and amenities draws people downtown. Are there other establishments or amenities you would like to see in the downtown areas that would attract you to our downtowns more often?
