Participatory Budgeting - Prioritize the Ideas
Vallejo has spoken – and you submitted more than 600 ideas at Participatory Budgeting Assemblies and online in February & March!
We’ve separated the 600+ ideas into eight different categories listed below (scroll your mouse over each icon for a description of the category). Click on any (or all) of the icons below, and you’ll see a list of the 5-7 sub-topics within each category. You can drag & drop the sub-topics to prioritize what types of projects you want Delegates to develop into proposals for the October ballot.
One-hundred dedicated volunteer “Budget Delegates” from the community are working on those ideas to develop them into actual proposals that will be on the ballot in October (every Vallejo resident 16 years and older can vote). Unfortunately, 645 ideas on a ballot could be quite chaotic…so the Delegates have to make some tough choices as to which ideas to move forward in the process. Right now, Delegates are researching how each idea could meet a need in the community, as well as the scale of public benefit to assess each project. But the Delegates want you opinion to help make these tough choices.
