Update June 7:
The project went before the Zoning Adjustments Board (ZAB) in January 2007. ZAB discussed the proposed application over several meetings, held a public hearing, and voted on March 8th to approve the conversion of the existing commercial building at 2629-2635 Ashby Avenue into a multi-tenant commercial building.
Since then the project has been appealed by two different groups. The appeal of the Wrights Garage development is scheduled to go before council on June 12th. At this meeting, the Council has three choices:
Uphold the ZAB decision to approve the project
Remand the issue back to ZAB with instructions
Decide to hold a Public Hearing at a future meeting where it would take public testimony and then decide to approve or deny the project.

March 8:
On March 8, the Zoning Adjustments Board (ZAB) approved the use permit application, subject to the condition that the applicant meets a set of criteria regarding the construction and operation of the restaurant and other tenants.
The conditions recommended by Staff in their Report to ZAB [file size: 5.5MB] are on page 9 (New Conditions on Approval Related to Parking), and in the section titled Findings and Conditions (Standard Conditions on pages 25-26 and Additional Conditions on pages 26-33).
The Notice of Decision [file size: 2.7MB] details the approved permit and includes Findings and Conditions from the previous document.
