What City Hall decided

In response to the community interest in that intersection, Council member Betty Olds requested the Transportation Division to investigate the intersection.

They have now completed their investigation, and are not recommending any traffic calming measures for that intersection.

A copy of their report is included below.

Transportation Division Report

The Transportation Division of the PW Dept. completed its investigation of the above location, and found the following:

• As a first step we investigated the safety record of this intersection by conducting collision analysis. The result of this analysis shows good safety record; only one pedestrian-related accident during the last 5 years, and that was due to improper turning by the vehicle.
• Visited the site and evaluated sight lines. Visibility was determined to be good all around, no other safety issues were observed.
• There are advance pedestrian warning signs on both approaches on Oxford.
• All the pavement markings including pedestrian crossings appear in good conditions

Based on the above, we do not recommend any additional measures.
