A public space is proposed for sitting, outdoor dining and community activities to be created by converting some of the service road adjacent to Shattuck Ave. between Vine and Rose from asphalt to green. A plaza would make the area safer and more enjoyable. Some parking would be relocated.

Some think a plaza will attract more panhandlers and that current parking arrangements are essential for business.

The plaza requires City approval and would be paid for by contributions and grants.
