Issue proposed and summary written by Councilmember Darryl Moore

For the past seven years, BPG has resided at 2747 San Pablo Avenue. During this time, BPG has earned a positive reputation from their current residential and commercial neighbors, City officials and police for operating a safe, secure, clean and healthy facility.
Since that property is now slated for development into a green mixed-use condominium project, BPG has lost their lease. After an exhaustive search they have found a site at 2009 San Pablo Avenue.
At a community meeting that BPG held on January 28th, community members raised a few concerns: the lack of on-site parking, lack of privacy, and the high level of pedestrian traffic. BPG is reviewing suggestions from the community meeting and trying to address the neighbor's concerns. There has not been a permit application submitted to the City, so I would like to solicit additional community input.
Is the proposed site, 2009 San Pablo Ave. (University and San Pablo), an appropriate site for a medical marijuana dispensary?
