At the February 28 Berkeley City Council meeting the City Council adopted the City Manager's recommendations for spending during the mid-year Budget review.
One high priority recommendation was to end the rotating Fire Station Closures. This was accomplished by allocating one-million dollars to the Fire Department budget. The closures will stop as of today (2/28) and daily staffing levels will be rolled-back to the numbers that existed prior to the implementation of this cost-saving measure.
At this point, "full deployment" is guaranteed through December 2008.
