The ZAB Decision
March 23
The board unanimously approved the Chevron Station application to convert from auto repair to mini-mart, subject to the condition that the owner replace the asphalt behind the station on the south side with greenery.
The owner indicated he would be able to meet the condition of the approval.
The board also commended the owner for being so responsive to neighborhood concerns.
Final Design Review
The Design Review Committee (DRC) is scheduled to review the final project for the Chevron Station at their meeting on Thursday November 16, 2006 at 7:00 PM, at the North Berkeley Senior Center, 1901 Hearst Avenue, Workshop B.
Issues for discussion are:
- Building Details
- Landscape Plan
- Fence Design
- Final Colors and Materials
- Signage
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends that the DRC discuss the above issues and give the applicant specific direction on these and any other issues raised at the DRC meeting. If the committee feels comfortable with the design, details, colors and finishes as presented, Staff recommends that the DRC approve Final Design Review with specific direction for follow-up with Staff as necessary.
